Once again I was lucky to attend ALCA Summer Leadership at Keystone Resort in Colorado. Once I adjusted to the elevation, 12,200 feet, sharing business ideas and networking with landscaping associates was wonderful.

Summer Fun

Once again we had our staff Stampede Scavenger Hunt. We have some talented poets among our clients. Here are a few examples collected by our technicians:

Drink too much, stay out too late. Heap them flapjacks on your plate. Grab some beef, lots o'beans This is what Stampeding means. Ride that bronc, lift that bale, Look out now, get the pail. Alaman left and grab that girl, Sit right down in the tilt-o-whirl. Watch the chucks, see the stars, Take a tour of the bars. It's Stampede time and I can't wait, Tell the boss I'm gonna be late!

Stampede

In this city where I'm not from, Thousands flock when the Stampede comes. Got some meetings on Stampedes first day - But all these beer gardens got in the way. I was surprised by all the cowboys here So I went out and got my own gear - And what's best yet is the new look of my rear! There are pancakes and syrup each morning bright, I can just leave work? That can't be right. Alas, it is true - for what can they do Fire everyone? It's a conspiracy of sort - all done like good sports, We shake hands a smile, drink a while… The Stampede indeed is a great time of year …after rides and rodeo, fancy dress, food and plenty drinks That is what I hear.

Calgary's big event for the year Yes that's right…Stampede is here! People come from far and wide, To see the cowboys as they ride. Entertainment for all to see Rides and shows and more for me. Cotton candy, food and drink Makes a person really think, Get it together and have a ball, It's Stampede time for one and all!

Our team building event had the staff incorporating interior landscaping equipment and stampede clothes with a rejected plant into some kind of western plant person. From the photos you can see the terrific results; J.C Phone Home was the winner. Chrissy Knorr won the scavenger hunt.
