2005 Highlights
Viva Las Vegas! This year the PIA (Plantscape Industry Alliance) conference was held in Las Vegas. Rennie, Jacinthe and I attended and we had a great time. We won an Award of Merit for the Renovation of the Nexen Atrium so that was a terrific surprise.
Greenery in the Community
I chaired a Chickwagon project, the "Extreme Makeover of SafeHaven at the YWCA". Greenery added beautiful plants and planters to complete this project and really make this a home for the young women living there.
Weekend to End Breast Cancer
Certainly one of my highlights of the year was my participation in this event. Our group the Mustang Sallys raised $300,000 and although it was very tough, our group was very supportive and lots of fun. PLANET did a feature story on me and Greenery and our work in the community after hearing about this event.
Here comes the Judge Again!
Once again I was invited to judge the Interior Awards Program for PLANET (formerly ALCA). I flew to Washington, DC and it was a terrific experience.
Stampede 2005
We always make the most of this fun time of year in Calgary. With great weather this year, our annual Scavenger Hunt and party was a big success. One highlight is always the reading of the Stampede poems created by our clients.
The Canal of Holland and Belgium
I had a wonderful experience visiting the countries of Holland and Belgium in May during Tulip time. My pictures say it all! The Kuekenhoff Gardens and the flower auction at Aalsmeer were just amazing.
