Greenery In the News!

2007 Highlights

Landscape Ontario – October 2007
Joanne was a featured speaker at the Landscape Ontario Interiorscape Symposium at the Toronto Congress Centre. The day long seminar also featured a speaker from Florida and the east coast. Joanne’s topic was “staying cool in a hot economy”.

TPIE
I kicked off the year with a visit to TPIE which is the tropical plant industry Expo in Florida. It is always great to see new plants and planters so that we can incorporate them into our design. I met up with colleagues Julie Farrow from the Plantscapers in Orange County, California and Karin Senneff from Plant Interscapes, San Antonio, Texas. Sharing marketing ideas and human resource issues with fellow scapers is very inspiring.

NYC Hotels
I made a trip to NYC in July to take a look at what is happening in the hospitality industry in the big apple. I visited about 20 hotels and compiled a cd of the pictures that I took.

Cerebral Palsy Gala
Greenery was a big supporter of this annual fundraiser which raised funds for individuals with Cerebral Palsy. One of the featured speakers was my daughter Darby, who despite her CP is an active young adult who loves skiing. Presently she is raising funds for her ski team, The Alpine Racers.

Stampede Fun!
We had our annual Stampede party which was a big success! Once again we had our scavenger hunt and our Stampede plant person contest.

Calscape Expo
What a terrific experience attending an event with over 300 Interiorscapers. The tradeshow was full of terrific new planters. The key note speaker, Rick Segel was very inspiring and shared tons of new ideas.
