"Grand Award" received for work on Hyatt Regency CalgaryGreenery Office Interiors Ltd. is proud to announce it has been awarded a Grand Award for the Hyatt Regency Calgary Plantscape and Design in the 32nd Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA).
The architects and design firms masterfully combined a new luxurious building with the sandstone walls of the past century. Greenerys challenge was to choose plants and planters that would compliment both areas. Over 150 plants in a variety of planters in both style and size are placed throughout this fabulous hotel. Ongoing maintenance for this facility provides a real challenge to the Greenery staff, however experienced technician, Adrian Salole has done an excellent job at managing this project.
It is a multi-million dollar industry, yet its an industry without an official name. Some call it interiorscaping, others, plantscaping or yet another- interior landscaping. Basically it is the design and installation of live, interior landscapes, mainly for offices, lobbies and corporate spaces. This involves the leasing or sale of plants and decorative planters and the maintenance of those plants. Owner, Joanne Young, a regional winner in the 1999 Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, has been a leader in the industry in technology and innovation. Greenerys web-site www.greenery.ca has been recognized in several industry publications. Greenerys clients include: Fluor Canada Ltd, PetroCanada, BP Canada, Suncor Energy, Energy Plaza, the newly completed Bankers Hall lobbies and the Sunlife Atrium downtown.
